The film directed by Park Hyun-jin and starring Lee Jun-young, Seohyun and Seo Hyun-woo, shows the relationship between Ji-hoo, who has everything perfect but has an unusual sexual taste, and Ji-woo, a talented public relations team member who finds out about his secret. Netflix released on Monday, January 17, the first teaser for Love and Leashes, which stars Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun and U-KISS member Lee Jun-young.

The 30-second teaser introduces Seohyun as Ji-woo, the rookie domme, while Jun-young will play Ji-hoo, the expert sub. “Get ready to spice up your K-drama viewing,” the caption read.

Development

In February 2021, during the Netflix contents road show 'See What's Next Korea 2021', they announced the creation of a romantic film provisionally titled as Moral Sense.

Casting

On March 21, 2021, Netflix revealed in a press release that it will distribute another Korean movie version Moral Sense, based on webtoon of the same name. It also disclosed that the romantic film would be helmed by Park Hyun-jin, and star Seohyun and Lee Jun-young as primary characters.

Filming

On April 19, 2021, Seohyun released photographs from shooting site confirming that filming was in process

Based on a webtoon, Love and Leashes recounts the atypical raunchy affair between co-workers Ji-hoo and Ji-woo. “Love never hurt so good for two co-workers who enter a contractual partnership as partners in consensual play, pleasure, and pain,” the movie’s official logline said.

Seohyun, who featured in dramas Time, Hello Dracula, and Private Lives, will make her big picture debut in Love and Leashes. Jun-young, meanwhile, is recognized for his appearances in dramas Goodbye to Goodbye and Please Don’t Date Him.
